Maximizing Grace as a Church and Society

Maximizing grace as a Church:

The reason for the existence is to bring as many people as possible to God’s family through the demonstration of His life transforming power and signs and wonders.
What is a Church?
The combination of people who believe in Christ constitute the Church. Using the human body as an example, Christ is the Head and the Church is the body (1 Cor. 12:13).
What is a Society?
It is a group of people who share certain things in common such as language, tradition, geographical location.
The grace of God for the Church is channeled towards the accomplishment of the above goal.
To maximize grace, the Church needs to do the following:
1. Recognize Christ as the Head without whom the Church is non-existent (John.15:5, John 1:16-17).
2. Work in unity (Ps. 133:1, John 17: 20-21) . How?
(a) By recognizing and respecting others and their gifts. (1Cor. 12: 14-16)
(b) Getting rid of competitive spirit. This spirit encourages selfishness and arrogance. There is no grace for arrogance. (Philippians. 2: 2-3, 1Pet. 5:5)
How do we love one another?
(a) By having concern for them as we have for ourselves (Mk. 12:30-31)
(b) By caring for their well-being and praying for them, rejoicing with them when good things happen to them, feeling bad when bad things happen to them, by rendering the best assistance we can for them when they need help. (Rom. 12:9-10, vs. 15, 1John. 3:17)
Maximizing Grace as a Society:
As Christians we are to maximize the grace of God to influence our society. How?
*By loving one another with a pure heart. (John 13:34, 1Pet. 1:22, Rom. 13:8)
*By witnessing effectively for Christ (Matt. 28:19-20, Mk. 16:15-18, Acts. 1:8, Acts. 4:33)
*By embracing holiness and guiding against defilement (2Cor. 6:14-18, Rev. 2: 20- 21)
*By choosing to retain and maintain our uniqueness (as God’s children) in the society (Dan. 1:1-3, 5-8; 2Cor. 2-3)
*By doing the right thing even when those around us are not (Matt. 5:16, John 6: 37-38)
*By embracing holiness and guiding against defilement (2Cor. 6:14-18, Rev. 2: 20- 21)
*By using our spiritual authority to decree godliness in our society (Matt. 18:18, 2Cor. 10: 3-6)
*By showing love to all, including those who appear unlovable (Matt. 5:43-44)
